Sony's overall income has massively increased, i bet that has a lot to do with HDTVs and the Blu-Ray victory (although cameras are their main business it seem).
Sony Corp probably don't mind taking a hit on the PS3 and gaming devision if the knock on effects to the rest of their business are so strong. PS3 is a cash cow in other ways other than profit on the system alone.
Clever bit of business i would say.
