On another somewhat artistically related note, does anyone else feel saddened by how much blander the Super Bowl field has gotten? Used to have a unique logo for the game at midfield, with the team's helmets at the 30 yard line and then colored end zones. Like so...
Now it's just a much more boring NFL logo at midfield, with a standardized Super Bowl logo at the 30, and then colored endzones.
This year will probably be a bit less dreary, with the gold hopefully livening things up a bit, but it seems like games at neutral sites like these should be chances for the field designers to get as inventive as possible. And instead, between the Super Bowl and the CFP Championship, it seems like it's just getting less and less interesting to look at.
