Come on, it's less than two years since Tropical Freeze came out, and that took them three years, as did DKCR.

The chances that their next game is "close to completion if not completed already" are astronomically remote.

tropical freeze, as somebody pointed out already, was likely finished long before its launch in 2014. i suspect they finished the bulk of that game well in advance. the true development time spent on a new project (released this year on wii u) is likely to be around 3 years which is enough time to complete a game.
