If plopping their kid in front of their phone/tablet is a cheap/free way to get their child to shut up for a damn 15 minutes ... that's nirvana to most parents. lol. Parents don't give a shit about what games their kids play so long as its not a game about killing hookers. And if phones/tablets can do that for free/$1 versus $40 that Nintendo's asking for ... that just seals the deal. Parents these days have a lot more to worry about than whether their kid is playing Mario or Angry Birds. |
Those parents would have never gotten their kids a handheld in the first place, meaning they're a non-factor. It was never a decision between a handheld and a phone. It was between nothing and a phone.
