US knows damn well that Saudis basically fund ISIS and the powers that be are OK with that. They serve a purpose of being a bogey-man, so there's no rush to eradicate them even from the Russians.
ISIS is a tiny fighting force, Ethopia has a freaking larger standing army, any one of these world powers could wipe them off the planet overnight if they really wanted to.
