Ways to immerse yourself in a game

I'm normally always interested in a game/playing a game, but when I'm immersed in a game, it's one of those games I can play for hours on end and not get tired of.
Good examples.
Xenoblade Chronicles X, I got so immersed in this game and literally played for 10 hours non stop. (Well.. food breaks and etc of course)
Whereas a game like Conception 2, I was interested in it and I enjoyed playing it, it never immersed me, so I never really felt in the mood to play it.

When a game is in the Conception 2 place, I generally just force myself to play it because I don't want it to clog up my backlog for the future, and if I ever get in the mood to play it again sometime in the future, I will. :D

That's how I see it anyways.
