Ignoring the Wii's casual base for a second. The Wii U doesn't even have 20 million sales. So obiouisly a fair bit of the people, during the GC days, that stuck with the company. Walked away and went to another console. Or just gave up all together. If Nintendo does something very annoying or stupid again, with NX. More people will give up. Then what? They have no userbase to fall back on. Which is happening with Wii U. I'm in that category. I've bought every single system and handheld to date. Wii U was my last straw to trust Nintendo on first impressions. I will not purchase NX whatever. Intill I see positive results. |
I just hope that the Wii U's failure doesn't make Nintendo double down on their "we have to be a special snowflake to succeed" mentality. I just want a platform that does everything the others do with an added bit of innovation that won't add 75-100 dollars to the total cost of the console, be so different that playing it without a special input device/screen set-up would be impossible or make it harder to get 3rd party ports.
