It honestly depends on what the next console is. If it's like the GC and is just a normal, powerful console, they might as well go 3rd party because it won't be much different than the PS/XB anyway.
If they make another Wii U, I'd want them to go 3rd party because it would be a less powerful console with a bad "gimmick" attached.
However, if it's like the Wii & actually does what I consider a good "gimmick" then they should stay in the hardware business.
In all honesty tho, I'd be happy either way as long as the quality didn't go down with their games
