Well here's the thing!

I read an interview with the Lost Winds creators just recently in which I recall reading that they initially planned on Lost Winds as a full length game to be released via disk like all other traditional games. However when Wii ware was announced they changed their minds and released it on WiiWare instead.

Now if the game was origionally planned for a full disk then I can bet yah that they had already created far more content then they included in the WiiWare game. They likely removed tons of levels and reworked some other issues to shrink the game to the acceptable WiiWare size.

This means they likely have tons of content left over just waiting to be worked into a sequal. Probubly using the exact same graphics engine character models and so fourth. They should have no problem getting a sequal ready within a month or so I'd say.

Unless they aim to release the sequal via disk like most games are. In that case it may take them a couple months to complete a sequal. I think a disk full priced sequal would be smart for Frontier because they can set the price up to 49.99-59.99$ bringing in a much larger profit then they are through WiiWare. They could publish the game themselves to avoid paying royalties and they could generate a couple million dollars in reveniew.

I think they plan on making Lost Winds a franchise, the likes of Mario and Sonic. If so I'm guessing the WiiWare version was just a dry run a way to test the market. Use the fact that their is only 5 other titles to compete with to make a name for the franchise. Now that the WiiWare version has generated so much buzz and created a small but devote fan base, its time to take it to the next level!

I smell a LostWinds:DS game coming , maybe a spin off of Lost Winds and a full blown regular sized/Prices Wii game!
