It seems that you may be loosing a fun game to play, as you reckon it looks fun to you. Nintendo will do a real metroid anyway, for NX if we are lucky, in the meantime you could play this and enjoy it.
The biggest problem this game has is its name, had been called Robots Save The Earth, no one would have complained so much but calling it Metroid without Samus was a big mistake. Can anyone imagine a game called Super Mario Bros 5 starring a Shy guy and a Goomba? I would do bad things for a game like that, but it wouldn't be Mario. Maybe they'll learn from this and start calling everything the way it should be, but not buying a game you find fun to teach Nintendo a lesson... well, that's another thing.
I haven't bought AC amiibo festival and I love AC, but I found the game ridiculously empty and not fun at all.
At the end of the day, we buy what we want with our money, and if the game bombs hard that'll teach them a lesson, that's true, but don't miss something you think you would like to teach a lesson, buy it if you want and complain on twitter, facebook and anywhere else about how much you want a real Metroid as well :P
