Mario Kart, Smash Bros, Animal Crossing, 2D Mario, 3D Mario, Pokémon are all 10+ million sellers, they still certainly have strong mainstream appeal, I can't think of a single other developer/publisher that has that many huge franchises.
When the herd loses its way, the shepard must kill the bull that leads them astray.
