I strangely do the same thing as you. I hadn't been a Nintendo guy for the last 2-3 generations at all but I'm back because i really like the quality of games on the 3ds and Wii U.

I used to be a hardcore nintendo "fanboy" for years (I've collected about 800 nes games and 350 snes games) but I moved away from them for a while. I'm really happy with what they do now and will definitely support whatever system(s) they make next.

Pics or it didn't happen.

Considering your age you would have been 2 when the NES came out, so... I dunno I'm just having issues seeing a baby with a game collection of that size, of course the NES was popular for years but even still, 800 would require some pretty nuts collecting after the fact, not to mention the fact that there are 713 titles for the system in EU and US so I'm guessing that 800 would include a lot of doubles or JP carts?

Umm no That's including all original carts ( no famicom though i do have a bunch of those) The number is alot higher than 713 if you include unlicensed games by companies such as Tengen, color dreams, codemasters, AVE etc, etc,. from what i've read the unlicensed number in North america is about 91 which i have all but one or two. I also have about 35-40 region exclusive games like Aussie rules footy, Uforia, elite Road Fighter etc, which i did include. I also have about 25 reproduction carts of unreleased games and about 20 or so new NES games that have recently been released (not included in my total). Its not all together or cleaned up right now as i have a two year old who likes to grab them from the shelves but heres your pic .

My snes collection is behind a bunch of toys and music equipment at the moment or i'd take a pic of that for you as well.

The Nes also came out when I was about four, and I've been collecting my whole life. There was a time period where everybody was just getting rid of there old stuff for nothing. I bought 19 games and a system from a college guy for a case of beer 12 years ago. I got a ton of games when nobody wanted them or wanted cash for other stuff. For a while retro stuff wasn't cool so it was cheap. I continued collecting because I have five friends who come over every week and play old school video games every week so it gave me a reason to keep getting them, as they were all being played with.

I'm not sure what the purpose of me lieing of this would be but yeah I have tons of games from a lot of different systems, from the nes to ps3 and wii u.

That is a massive amount of NES games you got there Johnson, is that a guitar amp on the ground in the bottom right side? the NES carts aren't the most shielded units I'd definitely be careful to move that slightly away from them.

Fairly cool way to get into collecting them I guess when people were selling them off cheap or in collections, but if you have 800 titles and they come from packs like that are some of those not unique then? I'm not sure I follow what you mean and the pic is a touch on the low res side to see the lovely side label'y goodness of them.

Never really got the reproduction cart stuff myself, for the games I don't have (or are balls hard to the point of nearly being unplayable) I tend to go for the pspgo under my tv option, I know it isn't original hardware and whatnot but when it comes to sitting back on the couch with the dualshock 3 synced to the pspgo I really am drawn to the convience option over the love of having square pointy edges in my hands.

Awesome to hear that those games are not just part of a dusty collection tho and you actually break out the NES/SNES for multiplayer use with mates, you should probably invest in a low power electric fence along the bottoms of your shelves btw! just enough to zap the lil man, not injure or scar him! He'll learn before that is needed... or drain the power.
