VR is not taking over. Everything is probably going to stay relatively simple. Physical media will still be popular, consoles will still exist. An average Joe will come home from work, sit on his couch, grab his controller, turn on his console and start playing Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 6 on his 4k TV. The regular consumer is just fine with the way gaming is now, and as long as the consumer speaks with his/her money, not much is changing.
