Is Splatoon the system-defining game Wii U will be remembered for?

All other good games in Wii U are sequels of established franchise.
So there isn't any other option.

Btw Casuals = mobile gaming , Nintendo needs a hardcore console with third party support to have success. (Like SNES)

The casuals from Wii area won't return.
