The other consoles are targeting the modern mainstream gamer; that is, 12-30 year old males.

Nintendo on the other hand insists on chasing the 1990s ideal of a "family friendly" console with a primarily E-rated library, despite the fact that this is no longer what the mainstream wants in 2016.

They cannot compete head-on with Xbox and Playstation unless they learn from those systems and adapt to today's market.

I'm pretty sure Wii U had Call of Duty: Black Ops II/Ghosts, Assassin's Creed III/IV, Madden, FIFA, NBA 2K, Batman: Arkham City/Origins, Darksiders II, Tekken Tag 2, Ninja Gaiden 3, Resident Evil: Revelations, Need for Speed, The Walking Dead, Sniper Elite V2, Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate all in the first year. I don't think lack of games aimed at 12-30 year males was a factor.

Those could all be played, usually in a more polished form, on PS3 and 360.

Where was Wii U's exclusive equivalents to Uncharted, The Last of Us, Infamous, Halo, Killzone, Gears of War, Bloodborne...?

Now ur changing ur argument, first it was Nintendo was insistent on a "family-friendly" console despite half the lineup being mainstream or M-rated titles, now it's Nintendo didn't develop any M-rated games themselves.
