What do other consoles have to do with it?

the other consoles are more run of the mil and they are doing fine. So why does it take Ninty to be "forward thinking" to have to not flop? (i personally believe they were NOT forward thinking, they just id something different that worked)

The other consoles are targeting the modern mainstream gamer; that is, 12-30 year old males.

Nintendo on the other hand insists on chasing the 1990s ideal of a "family friendly" console with a primarily E-rated library, despite the fact that this is no longer what the mainstream wants in 2016.

They cannot compete head-on with Xbox and Playstation unless they learn from those systems and adapt to today's market.

I'm pretty sure Wii U had Call of Duty: Black Ops II/Ghosts, Assassin's Creed III/IV, Madden, FIFA, NBA 2K, Batman: Arkham City/Origins, Darksiders II, Tekken Tag 2, Ninja Gaiden 3, Mass Effect 3, Resident Evil: Revelations, Need for Speed, The Walking Dead, Sniper Elite V2, Deus Ex: Human Revolution, Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate all in the first year. I don't think lack of games aimed at 12-30 year males was a factor.
