Where are the games? Even the hardcore Nintendo fanboys have to admit Wii U has no games. If you buy a Wii U now, it does have a decent library of good games, but if you bought it at launch, you've been experiencing games drought all the time. PS360 ended up good (or, at least not the disaster they were headed towards in 05-09), because of all the red ink spilled and lackluster sales, 3rd parties kept pushing their games on PS360. Once the price of two went low enough, console sales started to get traction. With Wii U, Nintendo expected 3rd parties to port their PS360 games on Wii U, and have Wii U as third platform in multiplatform game development. This way you would have decent library and sales momentum at the time of PS4 and X1 release. |
360 had decent sales throughout, PS3 was the one doing bad (but still was doing better than Wii U was which should tell you something) and just look at the sales of those 3rd party games on Wii U they were NEVER that bad on PS360 or PS4/X1 and no lets not use the excuse, "but if those ports were ran well they would have sold better", crap. PS3 early was known for its versions performing not as good as 360 ones, and people still bought the games because at the end of the day, they were still playable. Hell COD on Wii did much better despite running like vomit. What games would have changed the fortune of the WIi u? 3rd parties? they werent buying those games.
