I didn't have a console or a handheld until I was... well, older. The very first thing I could play with was a Nintendo 64 emulator on PC, and that was my only source of gaming (aside from PC games like Monkey Island 3) for some years.

Maybe I grew up hating Pokemon for making all kids go running wildly during break time just to do that crappy "gift" thing where you held your gameboy close to the other kid and you'll give him a random item from your inventory.

Mystery Gift! Damn fancy kids with Game Boy Colors! I'd hate on them a bit too, I had a gameboy pocket, monochromey goodness.
