The minute we start creating exclusive groups and clubs that exclude other members we have bad feeling amongst people. I can't trust "you" (i.e the community) - if I could we wouldn't have the need for moderators, bans and rules. Actually running a site for nearly 3 years shows you what works and what doesn't and leaving people to do what they want does not work I'm afraid.
The reason I have yet to find a solution I am happy with is pretty fundamental - who joins and leaves a particular "group" needs to be controlled in a natural way, not by having to enforce some sort of control or condition on who is allowed to join. Anybody should be free to join any group, just that most people don't want to join most groups. There should be a way of finding and talking to like-minded people without having to physically exclude others because that is where the problems begin. |
Don't you think it is a little odd that you head moderator and helper (besides "TheSource") make a public post how to do private clubs (named groups) and you posting than that you basicly don't want them anyway?¿? |
