Wii Sports Club is HD remake of Wii Sports, each sport released one by one as DLC. All NSMB iterations are recycled ever since the first. NSMBW had a free pass because of multiplayer and being the first 2D Mario on home consoles after nearly two decades. NSMBU and NSMB2 have this perception of being HD and 3D remakes. Metroid isn't a huge seller, but if you make a console that focuses on single player, you need single player games. Metroid Prime game would be solid single player experience in any case, and this is why SMG3 had been much better game for Wii U than 3DW was. It's not just about the games, but who you're selling it to. Mario Kart Wii is better game than Mario Kart 8 in pretty much everything. Only graphics and being able to choose freely your vehicle in battle mode is where MK8 beats MKW. As for Smash Bros, I have the 3DS version, and there's one thing where Brawl blows it's successor out of the water; Subspace Emissary, that effectively makes Brawl also a great single player game. DKC, I haven't ever heard anyone like ice worlds in games, which is why nobody makes games about ice worlds. What were they thinking. Wii had lots of great games, even if the third parties were just half-assed, and while nobody buys consoles because of shovelware, shovelware is an indication of healthy game sales. And when game sales are healthy, games just keep coming. What did the "hardcore" kept saying is how Wii should be HD, how Wii should be more powerful than PS3, how Wii should return to dual analog controller, how Nintendo should ditch the friendcodes. The solution? Wii U. Keep in mind that when Wii U came out, PS4 and X1 weren't on the market. It should've been fairly easy to port PS360 games on Wii U. Wii U could have one controller per console, because the "hardcore" play single player games, mostly online. Of course the controller is better. If your arguments of something being better is based on system power and having more features, then yes, the Wii U controller must be superior. It has everything the competitors have and even more features. It's a 3D motion-detective dual-analog controller with interactive screen in the middle. It does make the PS/XB classic model dual analog controller obsolete - even objectively speaking. Wii Remote wasn't designed to be a better controller, but different, whereas Wii U gamepad is just made better. |
Wii Sports Club? really? not one new game? then thats pretty stupid. As for NSMB well thats the thing isnt it, why were we giving them a pass, because they FINALLY added multiplayer and put it on a console. What did people expect Ninty to do after that? much cheaper to just give us the same old thing because we have been cool with it (not me, didnt get it. Maker shouldve been a launch game)
For Metroid, fair enough but then i would argue that they should have NEVER made a single player focused console PERIOD. IMHO when i saw that i knew the system was kinda fucked, has there ever been a successful SP focused console made in the past two decades?
where just gonna have to agree to disagree IMHO MKWii was one of the worse entries, i am curious to know why you think its better because you didnt mention it. It felt like a party game on wheels, too much luck involved and not enough skill. They really catered to the lowest broadest denominator and i get it, just dont like it. As for Brawl i thought Subspace was one of the biggest wastes of time in a game ever. It was a crappy platformer that was way too long. so the fact that they didnt waste time trying to do it again is a boon for me. And the online was atrocious. its a damn 4 player fighting game, they didnt focus on the multiplayer part.
Gonna have to disagree. I liked them. Sonic 3 had a great ice world.
Very true, but what KINDS of games. I rather have a smaller library of better titles than a big library with a lot of shovelware which IMHO is what WIi had (and DS to a lesser extent). Who does the latter really benefit? Not gamers, unless they liked those shovelware games (doubtful) or they just want bragging rights to say there console is has more games. Hell the Wii stop getting real support (even from Ninty) long before the PS360 stopped getting support.
Yes they said that about the WII. the solution was Wii u? I dont think you even believe that. Ever heard of too little too late? thats wii u in a nutshell. So they put out a system only marginally better than systems that were on the market for 7-8 years? they essentially pulled a Wii again only this time it didnt work. And PS4 and X1 werent on the market yet? come on, people knew they were coming and they knew it would be way above Wii U power wise. and it only beat them to the market by a year. Silly move on Ninty part.
Thats just nonsense, PS3 supported like 6 controllers and the newer ones default support 4 or more imho it sounds like you're really reaching and looking for reasons outside of Ninty for there silly mistakes or you just have a warped way of looking at it.
it has every thing but the ability to have more than one used on a system...that is a BIG step back. Which is one of the reasons its selling so poorly.
