what games did WIi U lack? The shovelware? Cause those are the only ones truly missing on that system. Damn near every popluar game on WIi (at least made by Ninty) had a follow up on Wii U but it still didnt help.

Off the top of my head, in terms of regular franchises that the Wii had that the Wii U did not have - Animal Crossing (a real one), Metroid, Punch-Out, Fire Emblem, Paper Mario, Excitebike, Wario, a new mainline Zelda (still hasn't released) and I'll throw in Endless Ocean even though it's not a regular franchise because I kind of liked that series and would love to see one in HD.

Then again the Wii didn't have entries from Yoshi, Star Fox and Pikmin and both are missing the regular entries from Nintendo's handhelds.  Just goes to show that a unified library would make the NX a hell of a system.  Along with that, if there's a handheld/console version of the NX and the handheld version is priced well, it would make the perfect companion/secondary console for PS4/xbox one/gaming PC owners.

thats kinda my point, did it really lack anything more than WIi, it seems a lot of Ninty home consoles miss stuff now and them. N64 didnt have a Metroid. BUT at the end of the day these systems end up getting the important titles, the big HW movers, which Wii U didnt really miss out on (maybe a 'true' 3d Mario whatever that means.)

Im all about a unified console, im just saying that the games that Wii u were missing werent really going to change its faith that much, the games that people really care about have already been released sans Zelda
