I was thinking this, as well. If there's no new mainline 3D Mario game this year, then I fear we may have to wait until like 2018 for the next one. Remember the gap between Sunshine and Galaxy? 2002-2007, 5 years.

Let's hope they'll do 3 years and not 5!

Especially if the NX is a home console and does launch this year, a 3D Mario at launch would be something that hasn't been done in 20 years, it would be huge!
