So first Nintendo tries to stop Evolution from streaming a Melee tournament after thousands of dollars had been donated by people who wished to see it. Then Nintendo partners with Apex and suddenly Project M is gone from their official games lineup - despite the fact that Project M was the second largest game at the event the year before. Shortly thereafter, Twitch.tv starts preventing partnered streams from showing Project M content. As a result, no significant tournaments will ever be streamed on their site. Nintendo won't admit it, but everyone knows that they are responsible. Now Nintendo partners with Genesis and suddenly you are not even allowed to play friendly matches at the venue.

Nintendo intervening with the competitive scene is nothing short of a disgrace. And people saying that we should be grateful that Nintendo won't simply shut the whole thing down are even worse.
