more popular? you do realize that the Smash series is won of the most highly participated competitive games on the planet right? I doubt there is any other game with as many tournaments. ever since Melee its been one of the most intense competitive competition communities around

 

While very true, Smash is pretty much top dog in competitive tournaments, it still is nice to see it getting more popular.
