Actually two of the top three online Wii games are third party. Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 has smooth online, and has provided me with hours of fun. Previous to PES2008, MOH:Heroes 2 WAS the best online game on the Wii, currently it's MKWii.
MOH has 32 player online, no lag, and works very well. It also has the best FPS controls of any non PC game on the market. (Yes, even better than Metroid Prime 3).
