Not trying to downplay YOUR argument but the bit about annual releases not on a Nintendo platform is laughable at best. To the best of my knowledge, pokemon is an annual franchise. Mario gets yearly releases on all fronts. Is yokai watch yearly? And even of some of these titles do release every other year, to act like 3DS sales haven't relied on tried and true IP is a part of reality that remains to be discovered.
