You know what, a 17 year old kid should be more financially responsible than that. I don't blame EA, Microsoft or the credit card company at all. It's the kid's fault. The dad should make the son work to pay it back... No sympathy here.
EDIT: well, I can sympathize with the dad, it wasn't his fault. And I don't consider him liable because he let his son have the card, because once again, you should be able to expect a certain degree of financial responsibility from a frikkin 17 year old kid.
