Emulators are great just to be able to try out pretty much any game from the 5th gen prior with little effort, especially games that never got wide releases or were Japan-only because many of them have translation patches or ROM hacks. But for the most part I prefer to play on the original hardware mainly because of the controllers. I find that playing NES SNES and especially N64 games with their original controllers is much better than using an Xbox or PS or other controller options with your PC.
