Yes and no.

Yes, because I already spent money on a Wii U.

No, because I would have spent that money anyway.

Honestly, though, people should be allowed to send a code from their Wii U to Nintendo to request a discount on NX. It could be limited to one per console, so only around 11 million-ish of these codes would be eligible.

I like the idea, but hoping a discount on their next hardware is unrealistic.

What they could do is launch the new account system on Wii U and then offer a free NX game (or a 50% discount) if you jump from a Wii U to an NX during the first year.

OT. I would have preferred if Nintendo had supported it more, and I'm sad that they have to kill it so soon, but its sales are terrible and the sad true is that this is the better thing Nintendo can do.

Actually, if the NX is Backwards compatible, what they should do is to offer a digital copy of one or two WiiU games. Those titles are ones whose sales are going to go down when the NX comes out, but they still are big incentives to purchase hardware. They get new games and keep the interest for new NX software high.

But that is harder to do because they should have a range of 4 or 5 games to choose from, and there is the chance that someone already has all those games.

By giving away (or giving a big discount on) one NX game, Nintendo makes sure that no one has played that game, and that at the same time gives them the advantage of deciding which game to use with that offer, but they also encourage the migration to the new platform because otherwise we couldn't play that game.

Please excuse my bad English.
