From the Vita library I've sank tons of hours into MineCraft, Rogue Legacy, resistance burning skies, LBPVita, Sonic Racer and many more I'm forgetting the names of, but I'm using it too as a PSP/PSone machine, I finally after many many years managed to get around to finishing Symphony of the Night from the psone on it, that was on my backlog of shame for so long, had been playing through Gran Turismo psp too... but now I've got Drive club streaming from the PS4 to the thing so the Vita for me has a whole new host of AAA games coming to it... even if they are from the ps4 downstairs, but yeah I do find myself playing most games on the Vita nowadays, it's handy for me too working in IT so during luls of work I can just whip it out and play a few days of MC or grind some more lvls in Disgaea (system now has prequel + 1-4 of that series, so many hours to be lost in it)
I'm not sure why but I never really got into the 3DS as much as I did the original DS, maybe just certain games I had grown away from, the later generations of Pokemon I just found to taint the memories of my childhood mashing away on the GB/C/A things like Garbadoor (not sure of the name but the pokemon who is a bag of rubbish) and vannilice (again... could have the name wrong, but the bloody icecream cone) Just seemed like the creators were looking around in their office at stuff they could render as a pokemon, (I know the original game had Grimer and Muk who were slime... but still... not just a bag of garbage)
On the original DS tho, had Rhythm Heaven Gold (maybe the remix gets localized for the 3DS) The first layton Trilogy (a Gentleman always wears his hat!), picross 3D, Guitar hero + crazy grip (worked so shockingly well) Tetris DS (actually shed a tear when online for this was turned off) as well as a fantastic remaster of Mario 64 X4.... man thinking about some of those games is making me wanna dig into my DS collection again haha.

TL;DR /jk
My PSVita I also use more like a remote play from PS4, but unfortunately because of network in Brazil I rarely can play it outside of my house. When I was at the beach even using the same network for both devices I couldn't hold the connection for long =[
Maybe NX will bring you back or new on franchises you'll like on the go and as console.

If you make sure that the PS4 is wired to the router you're using for the net then the remote play in the same network works amazingly well, as in, wired connection of the ps4 to the access point and wirelessly connect the Vita to that, I was even thinking because of the placement of my consoles making wireless better about setting up a wired connection to an access point just to connect the Vita to the PS4 (with no internet access on that connection) just for use during remote play, it really makes a huge difference when the PS4 is wired I find.
As for the NX I'm really interested, I absolutely love some of the Nintendo franchises they just sort of fucked up when it came to their online presence and how they handle stuff like Youtube imo, Sony and MS know that people watching others playing their games = people talking about their games on social media, coming down on people the way Ninty did puts people off their brand when it comes to online... and realistically I think in 2016 if a console doesn't have an online infrastructure at least as good as the 2006 Xbox360 then it's seriously out of touch with gamers today. Still tho if the NX is a handheld with the power of the Wii-U or so... I'm going to be all over that.

At home my PS4 stay wired, but if I'm wireless with PSVita in a different place it usually goes down, and if I'm wireless on PS4 and PSVita even on the same place it have issues.
