Jumpin said: Gamemaster87 16 minutes ago Question is in title. 1. Simply write what you would write in a news thread or post on twitter if this happens Nintendo is setting themselves up for an automatic failure. 2. Do you think this a realistic scenario? Nope. 3. Do you think a 2016 release would still be possible then? Yes, they could announce the console at E3 and then the games at Gamescom. But the E3 press is stupid, hardware unveils are not suited to E3, they need more simplistic stuff. 4. What do you think Nintendo will put their focus on at their E3 press conference if this happens? I don't care what their E3 is then, and will wait until Gamescom to see what they do. 5. Nintendo announces the next day that NX is coming in 2016. How would you react? Good. I expect it this year. 6. Nintendo announces the next day that NX is coming in 2017. How would you react? I'd be disappointed, Nintendo needs at least an adequate home console as soon as possible, any delays just mean that there won't be one for longer yet. 7. Since Nintendo has been so quiet before E3, what do you expect the NX to be? A videogame platform. 8. Is not talking about it until E3 a good or a bad sign? Please with explanation. Very bad sign, it means that Nintendo's marketing still stinks. E3 is too late in the year. You don't announce consoles at E3, you announce games at E3. The press that covers E3 are far from the brightest, you really need to dumb it down for them. The NX has to be covered by more intelligent press beforehand. |
Basically nails down what I wanted to write.
If nintendo dont have the NX launch in 2016.... man... that ll be rough.
Then they better pull a magical rabbit outta a hat, and go Tada "look we had 20 new games ready to launch all along (for wii U), we just decided not to tell anyone, so we could surprise you with the good news instead".
If 2016 turns out to be a barron waste land of game droughts for the wii u, and the NX is first well into 2017... yeah.... this is how you lose consumer trust.
Could end up hurting the NX sales.

To be honest, I would lose trust in the company when they launch it in 2016. The Wii U would then be a console without Animal Crossing and Paper Mario and even without its own Zelda. That would be the point where I won't buy Nintendo consoles any longer, because they don't deliver what I want, so I don't see a reason to buy their systems.
