It's the Day before Nintendo's E3 2016 Press Conference and they haven't said a word about the NX yet: How would you react?

2. Do you think this a realistic scenario?

It's actually the most likely scenario. They've pretty much spelled it out for you.

3. Do you think a 2016 release would still be possible then?

No, right now 2016 pretty much seems like the far shot scenario.

4. What do you think Nintendo will put their focus on at their E3 press conference if this happens?

5. Nintendo announces the next day that NX is coming in 2016. How would you react?

Happy that we get to experience a new system earlier. Upset a bit my sig would be out of my control for a year, but mostly excited.

6. Nintendo announces the next day that NX is coming in 2017. How would you react?

Happy that we get to experience a new system soon. Would laugh at the things I would make Metroid33slayer write for his sig for the next year.

7. Since Nintendo has been so quiet before E3, what do you expect the NX to be?

I think it's more than likely their console replacement. Would hope it's a hybrid as the 3ds is reaching the end of its life.

8. Is not talking about it until E3 a good or a bad sign? Please with explanation.

I think not talking about it until E3 would be all I need to know the system isn't coming out this year. They aren't going to want a shotgun reveal and release. Doing that would imply they would not need any time to build hype. So in a way that'd be a good thing, I just don't see this as the case.
