I don't think 3rd party developers will be rushing. I also don't think 2016 will be when it comes out. PS4 and XOne already have big install bases. The power doesn't matter. The big N has never been about having the most powerful console anyways. The SNES is really the only console they released that was better than competition And I personally like the Mega Drive.
What Nintendo needs to do, and this just my opinion, but go back to making sweet innovative titles, marketing them better and make it affordable. Mario 64 wowed the world. Galaxy was awesome. Super Mario 3D World wasn't that great. And felt more like a 2D game on a 3D plane, than an actual 3D Mario game.
Nintendo's biggest asset is their first party. Make a good Metroid game, Make an actual 3D Mario, make a better controller. I love Nintendo, and grew up with an NES, but to attract third parties they need to sell consoles world wide.
