Depends on how strong Nintendo plans on making the NX console. If they go bare minimum effort and make it only as strong as the XBox One like that one rumor then they need to bring it out as soon as possible because I have a feeling that Microsoft is going to make this a short generation. In that scenario, if Nintendo waits until 2017 to release a new console that's only as strong as the XBox One and Microsoft and Sony announce their next consoles in 2018, then Nintendo's new console would be screwed.
