Even now that I have a Skell, I am purposefully exploring Sylvalum on foot, so that I have time to soak it in before I romp through it in a Skell later. This alone says a lot about the game's phenomenal sense of place.

This game is one of the very few that has completely sucked me in successfully. You really do feel like you or on a whole other planet and the vastness is just mind-blowing.

Yeah, it really gives the impression of a natural (if alien) environment rather than a video game level. From the variations in terrain and weather to the abundant flora and fauna, it feels like a living, breathing world in a way that few other games do. The imagination evident in its design, from the lantern-trees of Sylvalum to the bizarre yet biologically plausible animal designs is just phenomenal.
