The 3ds will be replaced first. The wii u released about a year after the 3ds, by then Nintendo had done a lot more work on the 3ds successor without having started on the Wii u successor. The only thing they will share (imo) is OS but I don't think the NX is a fusion concept. Basically a system similar to windows PC gaming/ Xbox one gaming (unified under windows 10 but not really the same)
