Abrams had nothing to do with LOST outside of the initial concept/pilot. You do realize that don't you? Any young, competent director is better than Lucas of today. Abrams, Rian Johnson, even the Jurassic World guy. Lucas lost his shit a loooooong time ago. Disney paid $4 billion for this thing, they will do whatever the hell they want with it, but that's a separate issue. It does say something though does it not when money-grubbing Disney was willing to delay the movie by several months and miss out on the lucrative summer movie season just to NOT use George Lucas' ideas. Episode VII could have been out last summer if they used Lucas' treatment, rather than going in a different direction. Speaks volumes that they were willing to probably lose some money just to get away from Lucas' ideas. |
Lucas was never going to accept a movie made by the marketing division.
Can you tell me what caused the delay in the movie? I fail to see it. There is very little original work in this movie, very little. There are no cutting edge effects or expansive technology.
Maybe the movie was delayed to make room for a bigger marketing campaign?
Everything new in this movie is bad, everything old is good. That doesn't ring a bell for you? This movie was a remake with bad new characters.
