I am sorry if I want a good, coherent story in the movies I watch.

Nothing wrong with that at all. However, if you're gonna be a stiffler for detail then I hereby submit that you should have never even given this movie a chance because not a single one of the Star Wars movies has a "good, coherent story" to the point were I can't disect every single one of them to the point of ridiculousness if I were so inclined.

They're just grand soap operas, dressed in sci-fi spectacle. They're meant to offer a very simple type of entertainment. The story is of second tier importance here. The writer's top priority in a flic like this is creating likeable characters, that the audience will root for, and putting them in situations they can shine in.

If you feel they failed in that, fair enough, but don't tell me you were going into Star Wars looking for a story that doesn't resemble Swiss cheese if you look past the surface.

But how can you not watch a movie and have all the things wrong just pop out at you. It's true that it makes movies less enjoyable but that's just how it is. The only time that plot issues don't pop out for me is when the movie is emotionally effective in some form.
