Wow that cant just be a coincidence. My problem with Plagueis being Snoke is that it seriously weakens Sidius, he was just another pawn in the scheme, Plagueis managed to orchestrate everything from the shadows and Sidius never noticed. |
I also have a good suspicion that Snoke may be Plagueis and I think that would be fantastic. Not only would it tie in the 9 movies together, but they would have so many directions they could take his character as well.
I definitely hear what you are saying with Sidious..but take it the other direction as well. Sidious was so incredibly powerful with both his fighting skills, his planning and disception and just overall with the Force that this wouldn't make him look weak IMO. I think it would just add a whole new level of power to be wreckened with.
Sidious was so arrogant and so certain of his power that possible events were taking place behind his back just as how he operated in the shadows of a Jedi Order which was so overconfident it was blind to his activities. Sidious took on and easily beat some of the greatest Jedi of their era, as well as toyed with Darth Maul and his brother at the same time. I don't think you can weaken that honestly. It is also possible if Snoke is Plagueis that his true power was his ability to survive, and he just retreated into the darkness and waited for his time to take over.
But....if they do go the Plagueis route I am absolutely hopeful they go the with him orchestrating a lot of the events from start to finish. The line in the third movie about Plagueis having the ability to "create life", would be a perfect explanation as to how Anakin was born to a fatherless pregnancy. The chosen one who is pre-disposed to the dark side from birth, whom will orchestrate the prophesy of "balance to the force" that they all hoped for. Except it was also Yoda with a very quick little line indicating that the prophesy may have been misread and not mean what they thought. This is exactly what happened when a thousand year jedi reign was ended and brought both sides to equal numbers. Now only Luke stands in his way of supremecy from the dark or light, so he turned a susceptible young Kylo against the new Jedi but left Kylo undertrained, and just like Han said would destroy him once he completed his tasks.
