2015 wasn't all bad.

- Fewer Polio cases in fewer countries than any other year in recorded history, and 2016 may well be the year that the disease is completely eradicated, sparing millions from being crippled for life. Also, 2015 was Africa's first recorded year ever without a single Polio case.

- Child mortality, famine, Malaria deaths, AIDS deaths, and extreme poverty declined.

- Marriage equality was legalized in Ireland and the USA.
