A fad that the mighty Sony and Microsoft quickly scrambled to the market to get a slice of the motion control pie. Fad or not, it was real and massive for the time, and Nintendo could quite easily replicate a similar success in the future.

A fad that made them a ot lof money but quickly faded into obscurity and turned Nintendo into a subpar game maker. Not only it was perceived as a kiddy company. Now it is perceived as an exaggerated "simplicity" gameplay company having to deal with unexpected competition like smart phones, tablets. Cheaper hardware and cheaper/free simple games. Nintendo tries so much not to compete with Sony and Microsoft only to get lambasted by mobile devices. That's stupidity.

I don't recall Smash 4, Mario Kart 8, Yoshi's Woolly World, Xenoblade X, Captain Toad's Treasure Tracker, Fire Emblem Awakening, Super Mario 3D World/3D Land, Splatoon, A Link Between Worlds, Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon, Pokemon X/Y/ORAS, and Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze being considered subpar..

Now, they're taking on the mobile venture so, in a way, they're about to embrace mobile. This will be part of their plans to raise awareness of their IPs.

Edit: Forgot to mention Kid Icarus Uprising... :P
