Why do people think that Nintendo could go or should go third-party?

Awesoem so there is hope they will change ditch unsuccesfuly hardware and succeed as 3rd party. 

I already see it happening, nx being a hybrid and moible games is them dipping their tippy toes into 3rd party status.

No, Nintendo will continue with their hardware as well as branching the company into different forms of entertainment. Hardware will thus become one of their divisions, and not just their primary focus of income. Nintendo will become an entertainment company (I know gaming is entertainment) all tied in with gaming, mobile, movie, toys, tv and lifestyle apps/ accessories.
