The point is that I don't see much diversity or flexibility across genres coming from an engine built with a SRPG in mind. YMMV.


But do you have proof it was? Being the first game only proves it's the first game made using it.


Do you have proof that the engine can easily do other genres or even just games different from Valkyria Chronicles?


You're insisting on the game being specific to a genre, not anyone else. That means you have the burden of proof, not anyone else. I'm just challenging your claim. 

And engines are assumed to be non specific to a genre unless stated otherwise, so you really have to give us proof of your claim.
