I'd say yes. It's already proven to leg out stronger than MK8 and Smash and has yet to hit the same attach rate of those franchises.
I think another Splatoon bundle of some kind comes out in Japan before the WiiU is all said and done. They're just saying the bundle is out of production because they don't have any ready at this time.
I predict NX launches in 2017 - not 2016
