The movie isn't perfect. Trashing it like there is no redeeming aspects to it clearly shows there's a "hidden" layer to that hate.
From what I see, it looks like some people admit that if Lucas had done the new movie, a lot of them would have disliked it, because of the way he handled the prequels...
But most people saying they hate it, are quite clear that they would have taken the movie as gospel if it had been made by Lucas, even if everything had been the same.
