And the 3ds will end up at 70 million plus. Another mistake Nintendo made with the 3ds was the launch lineup not having any of Nintendo's top franchises in it. You have to account for the fact that in the Gameboy Advance days Nintendo had no real competiiton. Sony jumping in had an effect on Nintendo this gen as the casual audience is now gone. I'm not sure what you're referring to in terms of Nintendo getting beat left, right, and center? 3ds is destroying vita and yes the wiiu is getting destroyed but overall Nintendo will likely still sell about 90 million units of hardware this generation and will own roughly 50% of the software sales on their own systems. It's very easy to attack someone when they are down. Nintendo has done a lot of things differently from what I would have wanted. But in all honesty they've done very very well for themselves. This generation they made all the mistakes there is to make and they are still surviving and still back in profit. Nintendo is the one company in gaming I don't ever worry about. If they end up tranisitioning out of hardware one day because they've had a bunch of bombs in a row they can easily become one of the most if not the most profitable 3rd parties in the world. And the reason for that is the quality of games they make has never been an issue. |
i dont know how long you been on this site, but people were predicting it would be doing much better than it has (same goes for WiiU) GBA was from 2001-2008, not really 9 years. also keep in mind that DS released in 2004 so pretty much GBA only had about 4 years of actual support. Sony jumped in before but that didnt really stop DS doing gangbuster numbers it did. Dont think 3ds is doing 70mil, not when its dropping YOY and NX is coming no later than 2017. How do you think it will manage that?
3ds is destroying Vita, like DS did PSP before and Game Gear before that, but thats not the opponent, Vita was never gonna be a problem, mobile is what is really eating into their sales and they have yet to find an answer to combat that. It is helping them keep afloat, that much is true.
Been on this site for years and have been saying the same things, because it is true. yeah they make great games, not arguing that...didnt really address my points. but thats ok
