Take time with NX and not rush it out to launch, A mid gen console is suicidal. If NX is both a seperate handheld and console I would launch the handheld successor first as there is little to no competition for a dedicated handheld, then release the console version of NX as close to PS5/XB2 as possible with competitive specs. If it is indeed a fusion device it would be holiday 2017 at the earliest, and take advantage of the existing Wii U/3DS established userbase to sell more software (maximize Zelda Wii U sales). Basically, make NX launch as perfect as possible with real system selling software off the bat, if this means taking time then so be it, the next move is crucial.
