For point 2 why didn't you just state "why don't devs just drop OR and let it die?".
Also the user you quoted (which you surely must have seen their current status) was banned hours ago, I don't know why you quoted someone who is perma'd that will never be able to answer your question, if you didn't think they were perma'd you could have checked their prof at least.
