If Titanic released TODAY with 3D, it would have made 2 billion in the domestic boxoffice. Adjusted for inflation, it already broke the 1 billion dollar barrier domestically. It has like over $4 billion worldwide even.

Haha, this is too funny. You clearly have no clue what you're talking about. If Titanic released today , it would do 2 billion domestic boxoffice? I'm baffled. What if I told you it wouldn't even do 25% of that figure? You know why? Because this is 2015-2016, and back when Titanic released it was , by far, the most ambitious project to date. It was filmed at a scale never before seen in the theatre. Nowadays a film like Titanic wouldn't amount to much impact in the world.

People should think twice before extrapolating numbers using logic like ' inflation proves this movie would do x more if it released today'. It's almost as bad as spam.

 There's also the fact that Leo DiCaprio hysteria was at its height during the release of that film, and thousands/millions of teenage girls drove a lot of that box office.  Granted I think it could still achieve 50% of its box office, since it's still a decent flick.
