With the slight momentum they have and a great early 2016 lineup ahead, I strongly believe  that the NX will be here 2017-18 if it's a home console. But my hunch it's a handheld/smartphone 

Reggie already said that they have already publically announced that they're hard at work on their next home console. Doesn't matter what name they'll call it, you don't talk about your next home console unless it's going to come out sooner rather than later. Anything else is unnecesary marketing suicide for the current console.

But Ninty already did it to Wii too, that was comfortably pwning competitors, then Ninty announced Wii U very early and it managed to suddenly kill Wii sales.
